John Dendiu has been on the faculty of Bethel College since 1997. He is a native of Ohio, born and raised in Youngstown. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Piano from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (1973), a Master's Degree in Piano from Bowling Green State University (1977), a Master of Divinity (1987) and a Doctor of Ministry (2005) from Asbury Theological Seminary. He has taught public school music in Ohio and has been an adjunct professor at Ohio Northern University in music (1977-78) and Asbury Seminary in music (1985-87).
John is ordained in the Missionary Church (with his credentials in the North Central District) and has 10 years of pastoral experience in Ohio at three different churches, both as a youth and music pastor and as senior pastor. He was on the full-time staff of Campus Crusade for Christ (1979-81) and spent two years in cross-cultural ministry in Southeast Asia.
John also taught in the music department at Bethel from 1997-2004 and was men's and women's tennis coach from 1997-2001. John is married to the former Diane Detamore and they have three children: Paul (3 November 1977), Rachel (27 September 1980), and Joel (17 February 1985). His hobbies include jazz piano, reading, tennis, and golf.
