Graduate Ministry
Admission Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants from non-accredited schools will be considered individually.
- An adequate undergraduate foundation, based on the standard established by the Association of Theological Schools, is the basis for full acceptance.
Application Procedure
To receive all of the appropriate forms, request a graduate admission packet from the Bethel graduate studies office. Materials are also available at The Chapel. Applicants for graduate study shall complete the following steps.
Submit the following items to the Bethel College Graduate Studies Office:
- Application for graduate admission – (Note: the $25 nonrefundable application fee is not required of Bethel College or FWBC/Summit Christian College alumni)
- Official transcript(s) from all completed college coursework to the Bethel College graduate studies office. Transcripts must be sent in a sealed envelope with the official seal of the issuing college. Student copies will not be accepted.
- An autobiographical sketch that includes your reasons for wanting to complete graduate studies and a statement of your personal religious faith (approximately 300 words).
- Three letters of reference. Distribute three reference forms; one each to (1) your pastor, minister, or religious mentor, (2) a former professor or teacher and (3) a person who knows you well but is not a relative. Please instruct those to whom you give a reference form to complete the form and return it to the Bethel College graduate studies office.
Interview
- Call to schedule an interview, on-site at The Chapel, with the graduate advisor at 260.625.6200, extension 226 or 243.
- During the interview your ministry goals and objectives for your graduate education will be explored, the graduate programs explained, possible financial assistance discussed and any questions regarding these programs will be addressed.
All completed applications will be reviewed by the Bethel College graduate studies office. Applicants will be notified by mail of the admission decision together with any requirements for an adequate undergraduate foundation explained. This may require an additional interview with the graduate advisor.
