Master of Ministries Program

The Master of Ministries requires 10 three-hour courses or 9 three-hour courses, plus a supervised position paper/project worth three-hours of credit.

Courses must be taken in three major areas of study.

  • Church and Ministry (CHMN)
  • Theology, History, Ethics, & Society(THES)
  • Biblical Studies (BBST)

Students pursuing the M.Min. degree are allowed up to two graduate level courses by private tutorial or independent study, although students are expected to take regularly scheduled courses if at all possible. In special cases, substitutions for required courses may be granted only with permission of the academic advisor and the program director.

Master Arts in Theological Studies Program

The Master of Arts in Theological Studies is an academically and ministry focused graduate program. It consists of 60 credit hours of graduate study beyond the baccalaureate degree. Twenty courses (three credit hours each) are required to complete the M.A.T.S. degree. Under the direction of the graduate academic advisor, the student pursuing the M.A.T.S. degree is allowed up to three graduate level courses by private tutorial or independent study.

Adult StudentIf the student pursuing the M.A.T.S. degree has completed the M.Min. degree, or has transferred graduate courses from another graduate school, any private tutorials or independent studies completed for that degree or transferred in shall apply to the total of three private tutorial or independent study courses allowed for Bethel’s 60 credit-hour requirement. Course substitutions may be granted only with permission of the academic advisor and the program director.
