Professor Ramos was born in Louisiana, grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, attended college in Texas, and has now been called to Mishawaka, Indiana as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics. She holds her Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Wayland Baptist University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Professor Ramos went on to receive her Master of Science in math from Baylor University in 2005 and in 2009 she received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in mathematics when she wrote her dissertation entitled, Stability of Hybrid Dynamic Systems: Analysis and Design. Professor Ramos has also co-written articles in peer reviewed math journals and has had multiple invitations to present her mathematics research at conferences and seminars.
Professor Ramos began her career teaching math at the high school level in Plainview, Texas, where she taught four years at Plainview High School. She then served as a graduate teaching assistant at Baylor University from 2003 to 2009. After receiving her M.S. and Ph.D. from Baylor University, Professor Ramos began teaching at Bethel College in the fall of 2009.
At Bethel College, Professor Ramos teaches a variety of math classes. Courses she teaches include Linear Algebra, Applied Math for Business, Real Analysis, and Differential Equations. She also teaches Math Methods of Teaching and Specific Methods in Mathematics for a traditional and graduate class in the Education Department.
Outside of teaching, Professor Ramos has been happily married to her husband Gabriel since June 2004. They have one son, Roman, who was born in March of 2008. She and her husband are attending St. Mark Missionary Church and are active in Bible study. They look forward to finding new ways to become involved in their church and the Bethel community. Professor Ramos loves reading and spending time with her husband and son. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and crocheting. She loved hiking when she lived in Alaska, and has actually hiked to the top of a (small) mountain.
