Academic Programs


Student must be admitted to Bethel College and must contact the School of Nursing before applying to the nursing program.

Admission Criteria

Traditional BSN and ADN programs

    1. Graduate from high school or GED
      • Demonstrate a ranking in upper two thirds of applicant's high school graduating class
      • Overall GPA of at least 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) or its equivalent/GED composite score of at least 50. Note: Overall GPA of at least 2.7 required for students entering a nursing program in 2013 or later
      • Satisfactory completion of college courses relevant to nursing may nullify unsatisfactory high school or GED requirements
    2. Testing (see grid for minimum required scores)
        • ACT or SAT scores within 5 years of application to nursing program
        • Placement testing as determined by the School of Nursing if ACT or SAT is older than 5 years

RN to BSN Completion

  1. Graduate from a state board of nursing approved/accredited program. (Associate degree or diploma program)
  2. GPA of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) on prior college coursework
  3. Active, unencumbered RN license in the state where projects will be done

Application Process to the School of Nursing

  1. Admission to Bethel College
  2. Must meet all Admission Criteria as stated above for applicable program
  3. Submit the completed “Nursing Admission Application” (Be sure to sign and date the application)
  4. Submit applicable essay
    • BSN or ADN – “Why I want to be an RN”
      Include how you feel you meet the following qualifications:

      • Intellectual ability
      • Communication skills
      • Nonjudgmental attitude
      • Leadership
      • Moral character
      • Responsibility and dependability
    • RN to BSN – “Why I want to Obtain a BSN degree”
