Sam Abraham completed his registered nurse (RN) program from Andrews University (Berrien Springs, MI) in 1989; his Master of Science degree is also from Andrews University. He completed his Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) degree from the University of Phoenix, AZ in 2012. His research focused on factors contributing to patient falls in psychiatric inpatient units. His work experience includes psychiatric staff nurse, teaching psychiatric nursing in the classroom and clinical setting, and managing a psychiatric unit.
He was the past president and currently a member of the Association of Behavioral Healthcare (ABH) in Michigan. His published journals include Technological Trends in Health Care: Electronic Health Record (October-December, 2010); Health Care Manager Journal. Acquisition and Allocation of Human, Financial, and Physical Resources in the Health Care System (January-March, 2011); Health Care Manager Journal. Fall Prevention Program: Conceptual Framework (April-June, 2011); Health Care Manager Journal.
Sam and Merline have 2 children, Andrew and Marissa. Sam likes writing, teaching, fishing, traveling, grilling, gardening, and most of all being with his family. Sam currently teaches psychiatric nursing and research in the nursing department.
