Darlene Geoghan, EdD, MS, RN, CCRN received her ADN from Ivy Tech State College in 1999, graduated from the Bethel College BSN—Completion program in 2003, and earned her MS in Nursing Education from Ball State University in 2006. She completed her EdD at Walden University with a focus on Teacher-Leadership in 2012. Her research centered on evidence-based practice in the contextual environment of the critical care nurse; the title of her dissertation was, “Exploring Factors Associated with Critical Care Nurse Adoption of Evidence-Based Practice.”
Darlene teaches in the ADN, BSN, BSN–C, and MSN programs and is clinical faculty for Community Health and Critical Care. She holds certification in critical care nursing through the ACCN. Darlene has worked at Memorial Hospital and at the South Bend and Mishawaka campuses of SJRMC, Inc.
Darlene belongs to the ANA, NLN, Nu Omicron Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the Nursing Research Consortium of North Central Indiana, and Phi Delta Kappa International.
Darlene is active in her church’s Guest Services ministry. She has a very loving and supportive husband, and is step-mom to two great kids, Anita and Nathan. She is an avid reader and animal lover (Charlie the beagle and Einstein the golden retriever), and one of her passions is life–long learning.
