Genesians Plays

Directors Note: If you've been involved with the Church for a long time (in my case all my life), it can be easy to lose sight of who we are and what we are called to be. To lose perspective. Sometimes seeing an old truth from a different angle sparks my faith again. The arts and especially theatre have a great capacity for doing just that. I hope and pray that as you watch this it awakens in you a fresh desire and a new perspective.

In All Her Glory: Parables of the Church

This presentation tells three very different stories based on images the Scripture uses to describe the people of God: a light, a body and a bride. The failures of the church to live up to her potential can lend an ironic tone to the phrase "in all her glory." At the same time, the scriptures reveal that one day God's people will stand before him "a glorious church, without spot or wrinkle."

    Includes these works:

  • Parable of the Lighthouse by Tom Long
  • Body Parts by Judson Poling
  • The Bride by Burton Matteson

The Genesians' Motto: Be proud enough to give nothing but your best, but be humble enough to give that best for one person.
