Suzanne Mauro grew up in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from Purdue University with a BA in Fine Arts with a minor in Psychology in 1999. She attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated in May 2003 with a her MFA in Studio Art concentrating in Ceramic Sculpture. After completing graduate school, Suzanne attended St. Mary's of-the-Woods College where she earned her Indiana State Teaching License. Suzanne spent four years teaching art to students in the South Bend Community School Corporation. Suzanne teaches a variety of classes here at Bethel including ceramics, 3-D design, drawing, and Art Education for Elementary School Teachers.
Suzanne is a parishoner of St. Bavo's Church in Mishawaka, IN. She lives in Plymouth, IN with her husband and two daughters, Eve and Eleanor. Suzanne's research is in contemporary ceramic sculpture and non-tradtional cold finish. Her teaching ambitions include a dedication to lifelong learning, developing strong communication skills, and fostering the relationship's with her students. Her career goals include publishing articles in Cermics Monthly and attaining strong gallery representation.
