Academic Strategies
Not sure how to take effective notes in a certain class? Feel particularly anxious when facing a test? Have lots of homework and not sure how you are going to get it all done? Need help with comprehending what you read in a textbook?
These are typical problems that a lot of students deal with, particularly early in their college careers. Our professional staff is here to help you deal with these issues, both one-on-one and in a classroom setting.

Students who are admitted on academic probation will be required to take COL085 Methods of Learning (2 credit hours). Students who go on academic probation in subsequent semesters are required to take COL090 Academic Strategies.
Entering students who score below 450 on the SAT Critical Reading test or below 17 on the ACT English test will be required to take COL060 Written Communication I their first semester. Entering students who score below 450 on the SAT Math test or below 17 on the ACT Math test must take COL 070 Basic Math.
