Biblical Studies Major

Music Scholarship Letter

Dear Music Student,

I am pleased to write this letter on behalf of the music faculty of Bethel College. We are excited about your interest in the program and look forward to providing you with outstanding opportunities to study and perform music. Music degrees offered include Music Performance and Music Education (Choral, Instrumental and Combined) along with a Church Music minor. A growing campus and a nationally recognized faculty make Bethel an outstanding place to pursue your education.

Music and ministry come together in our performing groups. The Concert Choir is 90 members strong this year. Other vocal musical groups include Gospel Teams, The Collegians (a Broadway Music Vocal/Dance Ensemble), Voices of Triumph (an a cappella group), and the Women's Chorale. Our instrumental groups include our Concert Band, Jazz Ensembles, Percussion Ensemble, String Chamber Orchestra and String Quartet. In addition, we do a musical every year and we present special programs with orchestra and combined performances with other colleges, high schools, and community organizations.

Bethel College will be holding music auditions on campus for scholarships. Scholarships are available for music majors, minors and to talented elective students. Please see our Scholarships page to see scheduled times. You will find more information to help you prepare for your audition at the Scholarship Information link. Please read it carefully. The Scholarship Application is also available to download.

You may call the music office at 574.257.3393 to set up an audition. Upon arrival report to the Everest-Rohrer Fine Arts building, room FA120 for your audition. After the audition you will be given a short theory placement evaluation to help us advise you for next year. Each audition takes approximately 15 minutes.

I look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Robert N. Ham
Music Department Chair & Choir Director
