Summer 2009 Online World Regional Geography Course to be taught at Bethel College
During both of the summer sessions why not study the world ONLINE? Dr. Mika Roinila brings six years of online teaching experience to Bethel College and looks forward to helping both traditional and adult students in learning about the world in a new way. Online World Regional Geography provides a flexible method of learning about the world around us. The aim of this course is to introduce students to a basic regional framework of the world and to processes of global integration. The course focuses on the political, economic and cultural realms of the developed and developing world, their present structure and problems. The course differs from traditional classes with its use of the internet and online coursework. Access the material at your convenience from your home or across the country! Instruction will be by means of weekly lecture units that are posted on ANGEL, a comprehensive and flexible e-Learning software platform. Required work includes taking weekly online “field trips”, viewing short video presentations, online participation in class discussions, and other appropriate readings. At the end of each week, you will take an online quiz to assess what you have learned. Tests also include a flexible online mid-term test and an online final examination, which are available for completion over a 48 hour period. For more information, see the Adult Studies Course Schedule. You can also contact Dr. Roinila at, roinilm@BethelCollege.edu or call him at 574.257-2658.
