Meet Kim Peterson

Kim PetersonOne of my favorite memories from junior high is climbing our tree that hung over the river and taking a good book up there with me. I'd stay up there for hours. I think I was always reading or writing. I began writing professionally while in high school. I served as a stringer on The Elkhart Truth my sophomore, junior and senior years.

In college I began freelancing while studying psychology and journalism. I worked on student publications throughout college and served as executive editor of the student newspaper my senior year. I continued freelancing during graduate school at Wheaton College. Then I worked as editorial assistant for World Relief, also in Wheaton, Illinois.

Taking a hiatus from writing to tour with "The CONTINENTALS" (playing keyboards and percussion), that 1987 summer tour changed my life in many ways. But of all the changes, I believe that meeting the trombone player who is now my husband of 14 years was the best!

I teach writing and serve as Bethel College's Writer-in-Residence. I enjoy moderating two writers' groups (including this one) and mentoring students who are serious about pursuing publication. My current writing includes: reviewing books for CBA Marketplace, freelance articles for religious publications, and a young adult novel in progress.
