School of Nursing
Greetings from the Dean of Nursing
Hello and welcome to the Bethel College School of Nursing. We are always excited about sharing our vision with prospective students and welcome you to browse our sites as well as our campus. We are passionate about our programs and the positive impact our graduates have on the health care community.
We provide our students with a unique opportunity to not only provide excellent service to their patients; we also give them the means to provide holistic clinical expertise and the ability to respond to a patient’s spiritual and cultural needs. Our faculty is dedicated to preparing our students for success in taking the NCLEX–RN exam, so that they can move on and share Bethel’s vision of helping others throughout the world. Bethel College offers three degrees in nursing: an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN), and a Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN). These include an LPN to ADN and RN to BSN programs.
There are two tracks for the ADN. One track is the basic ADN program. It may be completed in two-three years for full-time students. Due to the intense nature of this program some required general college courses need to be taken prior to nursing courses. The other track is the LPN to ADN program that is designed for LPN’s who wish to complete their ADN; this track may be completed in one year. The BSN program offers two tracks for students to follow: Track I is a four year curriculum, while Track II meets the needs of registered nurses who desire to complete preparation for nursing at the Baccalaureate level.
The BSN completion track is offered one night a week to meet the needs of working nurses. Our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) offers two tracks. One track for the BSN prepared nurse who wishes to pursue a master’s in nursing education. This may include teaching in an academic setting, staff development, or patient education programs. The other track is for the BSN prepared nurse who wishes to pursue a master’s in nursing administration. MSN classes are offered one night a week on the Bethel College campus.
All programs are offered at the Bethel College campus with the Associate Degree in Nursing program and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing completion program also offered at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. The RN-BSN program is also offered in St. Joseph, Michigan at Lakeland Health Care Systems. Bethel College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. The Baccalaureate Degree program (Track I) and the Associate Degree program (ADN) are accredited by the Indiana State Board of Nursing, Health Professions Bureau. All nursing programs are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
