Public relations professionals work, plan and manage the process of effective communication and relationship building with the various groups that contribute to the success of an organization. Students with these skills will become valued members of any company or non-profit organization.
You can have the ideal combination of a liberal arts education, focused academic study in communication, and the essential courses to build your skills as a public relations practitioner. The core of the concentration includes classes recommended by the Public Relations Society of America and the 2006 Commission on Public Relations Education (2006) for PR majors (link to curriculum)
Students participate in internships that provide important work experience and contacts for the future. Bethel students have worked at local newspapers, television and radio stations, social service agencies, mission organizations and churches, as well as local companies promoting their services to others.
