Mission Statement
The goal of the Psychological Department is the integration of evangelical Christian faith with solid academic training in the Social Sciences. Our faculty is committed to honoring both sides of this equation. We commit ourselves to thoughtful and personal Christian faith and excellence in our fields.
Program Goals
Students in these programs will:
- Students will be prepared for graduate study. This
preparation will include a knowledge base in the social sciences, analytical and critical
thinking skill, and study/research skills.
- Students will develop interpersonal skills necessary for professional careers, including oral and written communication and an understanding of human behavior.
- Students will grow in self-understanding by understanding the historical and social contexts of their lives and of the institutions in which they live.
- Students will learn how to integrate their knowledge of Social Science with Evangelical Christian faith.
- Students will develop a “World Christian” perspective, which means they develop the ability to work in cross-cultural settings, as well as understanding how their lives and ministries fit into world missions.
