Admission Bethel
Credit for What You Learn
College is Within Your REACH Now
Still think college is a year or two away? If you’re a Michiana high school junior or senior, you can do more than just think about college. You can actually go to college by enrolling in Bethel College’s REACH (Register Early to Achieve College Hours) Program.
Get Credit for What You Learn
Through REACH, you earn college credit while still in high school. And, unlike Advance Placement courses, you don’t have to take a placement exam at the end of the course to receive college credit. REACH courses may even count toward your high school graduation requirements. Check with your guidance office to determine your school’s policy and to choose which Bethel courses would be best for you.
Jump-Start Your College Career
After you graduate from high school, you only need to update your high school transcripts and test scores with the Bethel admission office to become a full-time Bethel student. Bethel College is fully accredited, so your credits will transfer if you decide to enroll in another college or university.
You can choose from a select group of entry-level “100” courses. In some cases, more advanced courses (“200” level) may be available, with permission of the faculty member who teaches the class. Available courses will change each semester. Check the course schedule for current classes and the academic catalog to find course descriptions.
Possible REACH courses include:
- Calculus I
- College Algebra
- Exploring the Christian Faith
- Introduction to Business
- Introduction to Computing
- Introduction to Criminal Justice
- Introduction to Theatre
- Introduction to World Civilization
- Perspectives in Fine Arts
The following courses may be available on a more limited basis due to the number of students taking these courses:
- Applied Calculus
- Environmental Science
- General Psychology
- Human Biology
- Probability & Statistics
- Principles of Accounting I
- Speech Communication
A Real Value
As a REACH student, you receive a tuition award, which reduces tuition to $75 per credit hour for the first 12 credits. Most courses are 3 credit hours which means they meet for 3 hours of classroom instruction each week. To calculate your cost, you can multiply the per credit hour fee by the total number of credit hours. For example:
- $75
- x 3
- $225
- $75
- x 6
- $450
Join the Bethel Community
As a REACH student, you enjoy many of the same benefits available to the Bethel student body. Your REACH ID card allows you to attend campus events and use library resources.

Other Important Stuff to Know
- The REACH Program also waives your application, parking and student activity fees.
- Course registration for REACH students is on a space-available basis and is tentative until after the last registration date for traditional students for each term.
- The REACH tuition rate only applies to the fall and spring semester. Courses may be taken during the May or Summer terms but the regular tuition rates for those terms will apply.
- Students interested in dual enrollment (enrolling in college courses while still in high school) may decide not to apply through the REACH program. If so, your registration will be confirmed when you register and will not be on a space available basis. However, the regular tuition rate for the term will apply, not the special REACH tuition rate.
