Paula's Story
I am originally from Elkhart, Indiana which is about a 25 minute drive from Bethel College. However, up until the spring of my senior year in high school, I had never considered attending Bethel. I was looking for a small, Christian college with hopes of receiving a basketball scholarship. I ended up getting in contact with the coaching staff at Bethel to hear more about the program and learned about the many accomplishments of the team. I was able to visit and was really impressed with the family atmosphere. The people I met on my visits and the thought of having so many amazing experiences here at Bethel, helped make my decision to attend!
I ended up playing on Bethel's women's basketball team all four years. I was able to be apart of three NAIA Elite Eight finishes along with a NCCAA National Championship in 2006. While at Bethel I was also involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and loved watching any of the sports teams play in a big game.
Paula's Advice
My advice for students would be to get involved and be as active as possible throughout your college career. Do your best to participate in anything that interests you. If you put yourself out there, keep an open mind and allow yourself to grow in many areas of your life, you will truly love your experience here at Bethel.
