Stephanie's Story

When I came to Bethel College in the fall of 2001, the family atmosphere and sense of community made me feel at home right away!  I loved getting to know people from other places and getting to know my professors on a deeper level.  I was able to be involved on campus with the softball team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Student Senate, and in the community with Take Ten, service-learning projects and church activities at Nappanee Missionary Church.  I also served as a Resident Assistant in Lambert Hall my junior year.  Since graduating, I have continued to be a part of the softball team, serving as an assistant coach.  In 2007 we won the NCCAA National Championship and went 2-2 in our first NAIA National Tournament appearance!

Looking back at my Bethel experience, the sense of community was my favorite thing about Bethel College!  Bethel isn’t just another Christian college; it’s a Christ-centered college and I felt that each day.  The professors, students and staff I connected with each day really helped to share my college life into an incredible experience!  BC is a place where I discovered stimulating opportunities, lifelong friendships and life-changing moments.

Stephanie's Advice

My advice to prospective students would be to start your college search early, look at all your options and then make sure you VISIT campus!  Spend the night, go to class, sit in on chapel, take a tour of campus, eat in the Dining Commons, meet with a professor or coach, etc… make the most of your time and really be a college student for the day!  You want to find a college you love and can see yourself at for at least four years! Your college years provide you with many opportunities to grow and Bethel College is a great place for that!!
