Pilots 5 K Run/Walk Course Description 2009

This flat and fast course winds around and throughout Bethel College’s picturesque campus. Surface is asphalt and concrete.

Lap 1

  1. At the Start proceed STRAIGHT on LaSalle Ave. (east) to Liberty Dr. TURN RIGHT.
  2. Follow Liberty Dr. (south) to Lowell Ave. TURN RIGHT
  3. Continue on Lowell Ave. (west) to Clay St. TURN RIGHT.
  4. Enter campus through gate.
  5. Proceed straight then CURVE LEFT and follow campus drive past the Summers Maintenance Building.
  6. Continue STRAIGHT (west) on campus drive through the parking lot.
  7. At the log chapel, course curves to the RIGHT.
  8. Follow RIGHT curve and proceed past Oakwood/Slater Dorm.
  9. Turn RIGHT at stop sign.
  10. Proceed on drive to sidewalk south of Miller/Moore Academic Center TURN LEFT.
  11. Follow marked sidewalk around the ponds.
  12. Proceed on marked sidewalk and TURN RIGHT onto the drive in front of the Huffman Administration Building.
  13. At stop sign turn RIGHT.
  14. Proceed straight to the start line to begin Lap 2.

Lap 2

  1. Continue on Lowell Ave. (west) to Clay St. TURN RIGHT
  2. Enter campus through gate.
  3. Follow Lap 2 signs and curve RIGHT on drive.
  4. Continue STRAIGHT on drive and proceed past Sailor Residence Center.
  5. Follow drive around LEFT CURVE and proceed up hill.
  6. TURN RIGHT and follow course through parking lot (east).
  7. Enter marked gate at the Athletic Field and proceed to the running track.
  8. Follow arrows around track.
  9. Follow exit arrows through the gate and TURN RIGHT.
  10. Proceed STRAIGHT (north) through the parking lot to LaSalle Ave.

Finish

  1. Turn LEFT onto LaSalle Ave. (west)
  2. Proceed on LaSalle Ave. to Benton St. TURN RIGHT
  3. Follow Benton St. to Russ Ave. TURN LEFT.
  4. Enter campus through gate.
  5. Proceed STRAIGHT to the Finish Line.
