Proem
Respite:
Sing, Goddess, Karli’s respite,
Abandoned academia, alternatively saturated the clock
With holy orders, inhaling and exhaling grace in the midst
Of the few and the thousands,
And embraced the cleansing date ’11
For hope bellowed credo ut intelligam.
Begin with the resting of scholarly knowledge,
Attempting to make the main thing the main thing.
This is a preface to my semester; this is a preview of my ‘break’. Entering this semester has been quite interesting because I feel way in over my head. My course load is heavy, but ironically enough my prompting of this post is a result of Homer’s Iliad which I have begun delving into for my class titled Sermon on the Mount & Story. You can check out the poet’s own proem here.
I intend for this semester to speak to me in immense ways; however, if you plan to follow along you first must understand what’s “Behind The Scenes.” For my next few posts I plan to take you behind the scenes of the last month of my life, mainly that which was lived over Winter Break. There you will find my ministry experiences, both uplifting and arduous. There you will find my heart, both confused and committed.
It’s good to be back. Here we go, again…
