Buying In
Every other Thursday I have the privilege to take part in the track team bonding time, even though I don’t practice with them yet. And if you’re not part of the track team, let me just say team bonding is craziness but totally amazing. We call it “Natali Nonsense.” ‘Nuff said.
But Coach Natali is very adimant about “buying in.” (and no, not money)
I chose Bethel because of the community feel, like a giant family and that’s what Coach means. We as a team are a family and if that’s not what you are about then you’re going to have a rough time. That’s sounds harsh but it’s not meant to be.
So as a family we pray for each other, go out of our way for each other, serve one another and love one another unconditionally. That’s what Jesus did for us and since we are looking to Christ as our ultimate role model, we should imitate His life style, especially how he treated others.
Being a runner, I really understand the analogy of life being a race (1 Corinthians 9:24-27). But what are you running for? What are you buying in to, the lies of this world or the truth of our Savior? That’s my challenge this week–actually, my every day challenge.
Fix your eyes of Jesus and run hard.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. -Hebrews 12:1-2
