Fall Break Three R’s: Relax, Retreat, Recuperate
Over the fall break the men’s soccer team went on a retreat to Bethel Park in Bridgeman, Michigan. It was a time to relax and let go of the stresses that we’ve compiled over the first half of the semester. It also served as a time to grow closer with our teammates by sharing testimonies, playing games, and just plain out having fun together. We took time to do team activities like teammate evaluations, and group discussions. but we also had free time to; play fooseball, have a ping pong tournament, and play other games like Apples to Apples and Truco (a South American card game). Even though it was a short two night trip, I still took a lot from the experience. I feel closer to some of my teammates that I never really had a chance to get to know.
After the retreat, we came back to Bethel and had a game that day against one of our rival teams, Indiana Wesleyan, or IWU. It was a clutch game and we came out with a 3-2 victory that was almost cut short with a last minute acrobatic save by our “flying yellow man” goal keeper, Cody.
I spent the rest of the weekend recuperating and resting up for the second half of the semester! Time is going to start flying by and before I know it, it’s going to be Christmas!
