South Bend Chocolate Company
I’m a girl who grew up in Illinois. Not only that, I’m a Chicago girl…well from the suburbs-ish. But growing up in Illinois did not provide me with the experience of visiting the South Bend Chocolate Company. Chocolate? Yes! Yumm…
My first experience with this lovely place was when my parents and I made our first trip to visit Bethel, oh, four years ago. (Wow, I’ve officially known about Bethel for four years!
) While we were driving on the toll road between Illinois and Indiana we stopped at a rest stop that had this lovely little chocolate company. Who could resist a dark chocolate hot chocolate? Well, I don’t know, but I couldn’t! And that sparked my love for the South Bend Chocolate Company.
Now, I’m not really one to spend a whole lot of money, but a little splurge now and then at this lovely place has been quite needed. The other night, however, there wasn’t a little splurge. Bethel’s president and his wife treated all of the freshmen and their block mentors to $6 worth each of whatever they wanted at the South Bend Chocolate Company! I was also one of a few block mentors that drove everyone back and forth between campus and the store downtown. It was wonderful to talk with everyone and get to know them even better.
We truly are blessed here at Bethel with wonderful leaders that are very willing to make sacrifices and to bless us. I’ve had the opportunity to visit a lot of schools, but I’ve never really seen the amount of love that Bethel provides. I’m sure that there are many people who know the president of their school, but all of the leaders here at Bethel take it to a whole new level. They serve us and give their all for us. What an incredible blessing!
Bethel and all those in leadership positions here, thank you for all that you do for us. God has truly blessed us through you.
