Shupe Group

Tonight’s Shupe Group was one of a kind and very encouraging. My lovely roommate, the RA and Bible study leader, decided to talk bout Proverbs 31 and the woman of noble character. While focusing on this, we took Shupe Group a whole new direction by skyping with her sister who has been married for almost nine years and is a great living example of the Proverbs 31 woman. While talking with her, we gained a lot of knowledge and wisdom about what we can do to become the woman of character that is mentioned in Proverbs 31. A few good examples are:

  • Facilitate open communication
  • Focus on others and their needs above your own
  • Don’t focus on what you want in a future spouse, but rather focus on becoming a person that would make a good future spouse

I’ve been hearing these types of things in the past few years and they are very good advice. I only hope that I am able to put these words of wisdom into practice. You never know when someone is watching how you act, so putting these into practice can only help you to become a better advocate for Christ.

Actions speak louder than words, ladies. Remember, emulate Christ!

Love God. Love others. Light your world!

Bethel College, thank you for providing internet access so we could gain wisdom from a Proverbs 31 woman of character that lives on the other side of the country. Thank you, also, for surrounding us with so many examples of Proverbs 31 women right here on our campus in students, professors, and staff.
