Picture Perfect!
Photography, “drawing with light.”
Though I’ve never taken a photography class in my life, one of my deepest passions is taking pictures. I desire to capture something mysterious, something that can’t be spoken of easily like a stolen glance, a kiss full of passion, an awkward smile, longing eyes, a cold gray sky, an abandoned building, the lilies of a field, etc . There’s something about photography that is beautiful and unforgettable.
I’ve developed hundreds of photos over the years and have put them into scrapbooks. I’ve saved thousands of photos on my computer as well, most of which still need to be developed. But my point is, pictures mean something to me because they capture a moment that will never be the same again. Pictures are a witness to change, and pictures evoke memories.
For Christmas this year I will be receiving brand new Canon DSLR camera. I am more than excited for this gift and also extremely grateful. Though the digital camera I have now takes incredible photos, I wanted to get something that I could potentially use for a greater cause. That is, I hope that through this gift I may better learn that art of photography so that I may someday use the creativity, the eye, and the passion I have for “capturing a moment” to glorify God. Will see what comes of it. For now, I thought I would share some photos I’ve taken over the last few weeks. ENJOY!
