What fools these mortals be!

This semester I wanted to knock out my literature credits, so I went to my trusty course catalog and checked out my options.  Now, I’m a reader, I love books, and also a lanuage/English person, so you’d think I’d be in word heaven in a Lit class, right?   But none of my options were striking my fancy.  And then I saw The Bard.  I rushed to my computer to check the course schedule for this spring and, sure enough, it was being offered!  Needless to say, I got my self registered and have been steeped in iambic pentameter bliss ever since.

One of the coolest things about this class is that you get to go to the Chicago Shakespeare Theater (http://www.chicagoshakes.com/) and see a show.  We went to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream and it was fantastic!  The actors were brilliant and the design was fascinating.  I loved it.

Midsummer was the first stage show I ever saw- my grandma took me to see it when Bethel put it on in 1990-something.  I have since fallen in love with Theatre- I can hardly stand to be away from it.  And much to my delight and rapt anticipation, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is in Bethel’s 2012/2013 season.  With my impending involvement in this show, my experience with the enticing world of Theatre has come full circle!
