Enjoy a week of learning about the great masters in art throughout history. Each day we will look at a master artist or group of artists and create your own work using a variety of art materials in a similar fashion to these masters. Everyday will be a new adventure. We will use materials such as clay, paint, dye, ink, collage, and more. If you love art and love to learn, this camp is for you!
Each week we will offer something new, so if you loved Visual Art I, then join us for Visual Art II.

If you do bring your own camera, please also bring a USB cable for uploading your images onto the computer.

Ecology Camp: Understanding Animals and Ecosystems
Campers will gain an appreciation of the relationships between the various organisms in Creation. Campers will learn the names of animals common in Northern Indiana and how they interact to form ecosystems. To do so they will get hands-on experience working with live, wild insects and Bethel’s extensive collection of mammal skins. To understand animal behavior, campers will perform experiments involving the fox squirrels on campus. Also, campers will learn to bird watch using field guides and binoculars (provided) to learn about birds feeding and nesting on the Bethel College campus.

Math, Science, and Origami
Spend a week learning about origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. The goals of this academic camp are to:
- learn about the different kinds of origami;
- learn some basic folds;
- construct some basic and more advanced origami figures (for you to keep!);
- learn how to read an origami diagram (so that you can keep trying new figures even after the camp is over); and
- discover how origami is applied in industries like NASA spacecraft.
We’ll even see some computer tools that origami experts use to help them construct some of their very advanced figures. If you love folding, art, math, science, or just having a good time, you’ll love participating in this class.
Date Times Ages Cost July 19-23 9 a.m. - Noon 10-14 $125
