The Bethel faculty is composed over 75 full time members. Faculty appointments are made to the Division of Natural and Social Science, the Division of Humanities and Education, and the School of Nursing. Within these Divisions and School Bethel College supports 15 departments and over 50 majors. Full time faculty positions consist of twenty-four hours of teaching per academic year plus non-teaching assignments (committee work, advising, etc.).
Bethel has a traditional seven-year tenure system; some credit can be given for years of service at other institutions. Tenure and promotions are based on the four responsibilities defined for faculty: teaching, scholarship, institutional service, and spiritual modeling and nurturing.
Faculty members are hired from a variety of Christian denominations; all are expected to be active in a local church and to demonstrate the relevance of faith commitments to their disciplines while being mature enough in their faith to disciple students.
Bethel College is a faith based student-focused learning community. All employees directly or indirectly assist in promoting an intentional Christ-centered environment and serve as committed Christian role models for our students and staff. As such, they must abide by our Covenant of Lifestyle. Bethel is a non-smoking environment.
Bethel College is an equal opportunity employer. Minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
