Since planting the first seeds of a community garden four years ago, Sara (Uzelac ‘09) Stewart has cultivated much more than cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes. After only two growing seasons, the short-term project quickly blossomed into a full-blown nonprofit organization.

Changing the World through Skateboarding

Peter Metzger (’10) is using his passion for skateboarding to “help people: change the world.” This is the mission for Envision Skate Collective, an organization started by Metzger that sells hand-crafted skateboards and then gives 50 percent of net profits to charitable organizations.

Bethel Breaks Ground on Bookstore Expansion

On May 16, Bethel broke ground on a $1.1 million bookstore expansion, which will include the campus coffeehouse, Sufficient Grounds. Construction is expected to be completed in Nov. 2012.
