INSPIRE Databases

INSPIRE provides access to many databases for Indiana residents. INSPIRE includes Biography Resource Center, a source for biographical information; Informe, a collection of popular Spanish language magazines; and, Litfinder, a full text resource of literary works.

JSTOR: Arts & Sciences I Collection

JSTOR's Arts & Sciences I collection includes core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also contains titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics. Overall, there are 119 titles in fifteen disciplines. A retrospective digitization project, it provides a collection of complete backfiles of hundreds scholarly periodicals, starting with the first issues. Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstract (LISTA) indexes more than 690 periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.

MasterFILE Premier

Designed specifically for public libraries, this multidisciplinary database provides full text for more than 1,750 general reference publications with full text information dating as far back as 1975. Covering virtually every subject area of general interest, MasterFILE Premier also includes nearly 500 full text reference books, full text from 86,019 biographies, 105,787 full text primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 293,480 photos, maps and flags. This database is updated daily via EBSCOhost.

McClatchy-Tribune Collection

The McClatchy-Tribune Collection includes a 90-day archive of approximately 290 newspapers from the McClatchy-Tribune Information Services. This database is updated daily.

Military & Government Collection

Designed to offer current news pertaining to all branches of the military and government, this database offers a thorough collection of periodicals, academic journals, and other content pertinent to the increasing needs of those sites. The Military &Government Collection provides cover-to-cover full text for nearly 300 journals and periodicals and indexing and abstracts for nearly 400 titles.

Project MUSE

Project MUSe provides 100% full text access to over 350 humanities and social sciences journals from over 60 scholarly publishers. Project MUSE focuses more on current content, that is content published within the last 10 years. For older content, see JSTOR.

Sage Journals Online

Sage Journals Online provides full text access to over 485 journals published by Sage. Disciplines that are covered include: Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science, Technology and Medicine. Sage Journals Online provides keyword, author, and title search capabilities, but it does not include indexing and abstracting services.

Taylor & Francis Social Science & Humanities Library

The Taylor & Francis Social Science & Humanities Library provides access to over 1100 journals published by Taylor & Francis. MLA International Bibliography

The primary subject focus of this journal package is in the areas of nursing and medicine. Ovid provides keyword, author, and title search capabilities, but it does not include indexing and abstracting services.

Nursing Resource Center

ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials

ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials combines the premier index to journal articles, book reviews, and collections of essays in all fields of religion with ATLA's online collection of major religion and theology journals. The ATLA Religion Database includes more than 488,000 article citations from more than 1,500 journals (506 currently indexed), more than 215,000 essay citations from over 15,700 multi-author works, and more than 446,000 book review citations. This database begins in 1949 although indexing for some journal titles extends back into the nineteenth century. This database is produced by the American Theological Library Association.

Christian Periodical Index

The Christian Periodical Index, produced by The Association of Christian Librarians (ACL), is a bibliographic database that indexes articles from over 100 selected publications covering a broad range of topics. Hoosier State Chronicles

Hoosier State Chronicles is operated by the Indiana State Library and funded by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act. We seek to provide free, online access to high quality digital images of Indiana's historic newspapers by digitizing our collection, and assisting other organizations in making their collections digitally available.

Indiana History Online

Contains primary source materials from Indiana's history. Includes a wide variety of old documents: personal narratives and memoirs, pamphlets and political speeches, sermons and songs, legal treatises, books, and children's books. Also contains introductory essays and other educational materials that provide historical context. Searches and displays materials as they were originally published, including words and ideas we might now consider offensive or rude. Material is compiled from several resources, including Sabin, but contains only the specific items related to Indiana, not their entire contents.

Indiana Memory

Indiana Memory is a collaborative effort to provide access to the wealth of primary sources in Indiana libraries, archives, museums, and other cultural institutions. It is a gateway to Indiana's history and culture found in digitized books, manuscripts, photographs, newspapers, maps, and other media. PsycARTICLES

The database contains more than 45,000 articles from 57 journals - 46 published by the American Psychological Association (APA) and 11 from allied organizations. It includes all journal articles, letters to the editor and errata from each journal. Coverage spans 1985 to present.

PsycINFO

PsycINFO , from the American Psychological Association (APA), contains nearly 2.3 million citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines, dating as far back as the 1800s. 97 percent of the covered material is peer-reviewed. Journal coverage, which spans 1887 to present, includes international material selected from approximately 2,050 periodicals in more than 25 languages.

SocINDEX

SocINDEX is the world's most comprehensive and highest quality sociology research database. This database features more than 1,600,000 records with subject headings from a 15,600 term sociological thesaurus designed by subject experts and expert lexicographers. This product also contains informative abstracts for 640 "core" coverage journals dating as far back as 1895.
