Tony Campolo Speaks in Chapel

Tony Campolo, the founder and president of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education (EAPE), spoke in chapel on Monday, December 9. Campolo is a professor at Eastern University and has been a guest on the shows Nightline, Crossfire, Politically Incorrect and CNN News. He is the author of 28 books and is currently an associate pastor at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in West Philadelphia.

Campolo breathed a fresh wind over the campus Monday morning by declaring that the Kingdom of God is at hand. He went on to say that this kingdom begins in our heart and flows outward, through the Spirit, to others. The evidence of the Spirit's presence in us begins with our ability to sense Jesus waiting to be loved in those we meet.

Campolo's ease on stage brought the audience into a kind of personal, lighthearted conversation with him. His words well received as was evident by the tremendous response from students after his talk.
