Tickets on Sale now for Bethel College Theatre Arts Fall Show:
Father of the Bride by Caroline Francke
We would like to invite you to our fall production, Father of the Bride, on October 7, 8, and 9. Performances will be in the beautiful Everest-Rohrer Auditorium on the campus of Bethel College and will begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening.
Long before Father of the Bride was a hit movie, Caroline Francke's adaptation of Edward Streeter's popular novel was a successful stage play. This timeless comedy revolves around a father, his newly engaged daughter, and all the complications that arise when a young man and woman decide to join in matrimony.
When Kay Banks breaks the news to her family that she is engaged, everyone is ecstatic. Everyone, that is, except her father. The "small" wedding gets larger and larger as the guest list grows each day. A caterer, florists, furniture movers and dressmakers take over, putting the whole Banks household in turmoil. At one point, Kay calls off the wedding in a fit of temper, but in the end all is set right and Mr. Banks ends up as the proud "father of the bride."
Our newest faculty member, Brock Fisher, will be making his directorial debut with Father of the Bride. Jonathan Sabo is designing the scenery, Derrick Null is the lighting designer, and Lisa Staples it the costumer/production manager.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, or groups of 15 or more. You may reserve your seats starting September 6 by calling 574-257-7633 between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or by visiting the new box office on the upper level of the Everest-Rohrer Auditorium.
We hope you will join us for this delightful evening of entertainment.
