MISHAWAKA, IN, September 7, 2005 – Dr. Quinton J. Everest, a man whose vision led to the founding of Bethel College, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 4th. He was 97 years old.
Dr. Everest is survived by Mae, his wife of 76 years, four children, 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Dr. Everest also pastored Gospel Center Missionary Church for 22 years, and was the radio pastor for the radio ministry, "Your Worship Hour," which eventually reached 125 radio stations worldwide. He also had another radio program, "Sunrise Meditations," which was broadcast on WSBT each weekday for 22 years.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM, Friday at Palmer Funeral Home in South Bend, and from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday in the Everest-Rohrer Rotunda. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM, in the Everest-Rohrer Auditorium.
Bethel College is an accredited Christian college of the arts and sciences offering associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in more than 50 areas of study. The current enrollment of 1,964 includes students from 34 states, 19 countries, more than 20 denominational affiliations and 16 percent from culturally diverse backgrounds. Scholarships are available based upon a variety of factors including academic achievement, talent in the arts or athletics, ethnicity and church affiliation. The Bethel campus is situated on 75 wooded acres in Mishawaka, Indiana.
