Bethel College Mourns Loss of Local Alum

MISHAWAKA, IN, April 26, 2006 – On Sunday, April 23, Cpl. Scott Severns of the South Bend Police Department and Bethel alum died from gunshot wounds received off-duty while trying to thwart an attempted robbery and protect a friend.
Severns was a 1992 graduate of Bethel College and member of the baseball team. Viewing and visitation for the public will be on Thursday, April 27, from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Bethel College Weikamp Athletic Center.
