Bethel College's Voices of Triumph Sings for Indiana Choral Directors Association Fine Arts Recital

Bethel College's Voices of Triumph, an a cappella singing group, performed this summer for an audience of choir directors during the 2006 Summer Conference of the Indiana Choral Directors Association in Indianapolis. Robert N. Ham, Voices of Triumph Director, says, "The students sang wonderfully and the audience showed its appreciation and approval with a standing ovation. After the concert the students received many kind comments of support from the individuals in attendance."

The concert made a lasting memory as the highlight of the year for the Voices of Triumph members. In addition to performing, the group recorded a CD, Anchored, at the conference. The CD, available for purchase in the music office on Bethel College's campus, sells for $5 (Bethel family price) and $10 (general public price).

Voices of Triumph, an ensemble of 10 singers, studies music which is exclusively a cappella. Vocal jazz, spirituals, patriotic numbers, hymn arrangements, folk songs and an occasional madrigal—these are all part of the repertoire this select ensemble rehearses and performs. Auditions open to any student of sophomore status or higher, are held each spring. For more information, contact Robert Ham at 574-257-3391.
