Scholar in residence at Bethel College, Dr. Eugene Carpenter, participated in the writing of the New Living Translation Study Bible (Tyndale) which was released in stores in September. He has taught at Bethel for more than 20 years.
Carpenter was contacted by Tyndale Publishing Company, as an Old Testament scholar and Professor of Hebrew, to contribute to this important project. Carpenter has been involved in the preparation of this Bible for seven years. He contributed by writing the introduction, study notes, theme notes and charts for Daniel and Micah while also translating the Book of Exodus. In addition, he authored two other articles and created charts for “Archaeology and Sources for Old Testament Background” and “The Historical Background of Israel’s Background and Return.”
