Sarah (Wiley) Tietsort, a 2001 graduate of Clay High School and a 2005 graduate of Bethel College, will perform with the United States Navy Band “Sea Chanters” chorus at the close of today’s presidential inauguration. The 21-member group, which performs throughout the United States and often sings at the White House, the Vice President's home and for other Washington dignitaries, will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Tietsort studied music performance while at Bethel, and participated in a variety of musical groups during her time as a student. She went on to earn a master’s degree in vocal performance from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., and joined the Sea Chanters in 2008.
