Bethel College has added several new scholarships in light of the struggling economy. More than $9 million in financial assistance will be awarded to students entering the fall 2009 semester, the largest recorded amount of aid in the school’s history.
These awards recognize significant student accomplishments in areas such as academics, talent, community service and leadership. In the 2009 fall semester, students recognized for achievement by these organizations will be considered for a Bethel award: Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Awana, Granger Business Association, Junior Achievement Titan Challenge, American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State. Currently there is no limit on the number of awards available for each of these programs.
Beginning the fall of 2010, students will have the opportunity to apply for a variety of Community Matching Scholarships. When a regional student receives scholarship recognition for their accomplishments in academics, talent, service to others or leadership from community organizations, corporations, etc., Bethel will match that scholarship up to $1,000.
