For six months Bethel has partnered with WorkOne to provide computer services to those who needed to file online unemployment vouchers. The last day to file vouchers in the lower level of the Miller/Moore Academic Center will be September 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. WorkOne has announced that Bethel’s help is no longer necessary, as they are now able to manage their workload. Due to the client load stabilizing at WorkOne, the support offered by Bethel is no longer needed.
"We are thankful and blessed to have the resources necessary to help our community during a rather chaotic time. This project would not have been possible without the support of so many caring volunteers and the hardworking staff at WorkOne who, on their own time after hours, stepped forward to help train all the volunteers," says Lisa Greco, director of conference services at Bethel.
On March 8 Bethel opened its computer lab for three hours every Sunday because of overwhelmed offices at the WorkOne South Bend and Elkhart campuses. Each week more than 100 people utilized Bethel’s computer lab. Overall about 40 volunteers from various churches were trained specifically to help during this time.
