A Word from the President About National Collegiate Day of Prayer

February 18, 2011
Dear Bethel Family,
Thursday, February 24th is the National Collegiate Day of Prayer. This movement hopes to engage 2,000 prayer groups around the country to pray for our colleges and universities. This is the re-establishment of a practice begun by American churches that lasted from 1823-1915.
I invite the entire Bethel family to engage in a time of prayer and fasting on behalf of Bethel College and her sister institutions. You can be involved by praying for a timeframe of God’s leading and fasting for one meal or the whole day.
Pray that God’s Spirit will once again move on our campus in a mighty way so that Bethel College will continue to be true to its name, meaning “House of God.” Also pray that God will raise up a new generation of “world changers.”
President Steven R. Cramer Ph.D. ('75)
How Bethel Will Respond to National Collegiate Day of Prayer
Bethel’s schedule calls for prayer from 10am-10pm in the Everest-Rohrer Auditorium. We plan to pray through 2 'cycles' where we will pray for Bethel, the SB-Mishawaka community, the nation, and the world in 1-1.5 hour segments. A link to the national website is posted above.
The day will be "open" in that the public may come and leave as they please. We also will begin and end the day with praise and worship and have one session of worship in the middle of the day.
