Bethel to Participate in Bike the Bend

Bethel College will be a stop for those participating in the Bike the Bend community-wide event on Sunday, May 15 from 6:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. with a post ride party at Potawatomi Park in South Bend.

Bike the Bend is a noncompetitive family biking event that originated in Chicago. It was introduced to the area by promoters last year  and is underwritten by the Louise Addicott and Georgiana Joshi Foundation.

Bethel College will be a SAG Stop (Stop And Go Stop) for riders to use restroom facilities, check their bikes and rest. Some of the other stops in the 30-mile ride include University of Notre Dame, Kamm Island, Beutter, St. Patrick, Pinhook and Potawatomi Parks and the Chapin Street Historic District.

“We participate as a way to partner with our community as good neighbors should, ” says Bethel College Director of Special Events, Lisa Greco.
