Dr. Otis Bowen, M.D., former Indiana governor, Bethel honorary trustee and medical doctor, died Saturday, May 4. He was 95.
“The entire Bethel College community was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Indiana Governor Dr. Otis Bowen. Dr. Bowen has been wonderful friend to Bethel College for many years and has honored the college as an honorary trustee and allowing our library to bear his name, to also contain a museum of his life and become the repository for many of his official documents. Both Carol and he have been a source of quiet encouragement for the Bethel College family. The state of Indiana, the Michiana area, the Bremen community and Bethel College have been greatly enriched by his service and care. We will be upholding his family in our prayers.”
