Bethel College student Lacey Miller was recently recognized as one of Indiana’s 31 sophomores who is “Realizing the Dream” as a first-generation college student. The Independent Colleges of Indiana, funded by Lilly Endowment Inc., awards a $2,500 grant to go towards the student’s college costs, as well as honoring a teacher who influenced the student’s aspirations for college.
Miller is from Bremen, Ind., and chose to honor Lindsay Hudkins from Bremen High School as her most influential teacher. Hudkins received a $1,000 professional development grant, also made possible by Lilly Endowment Inc. Both attended ICI’s 27th annual “Realizing the Dream” banquet in Indianapolis to receive their awards.
