Bethel College and WorkOne are partnering to offer a new session of their successful Hospitality and Tourism Training Program. The session will begin on Jan. 23 and run through Feb. 10 with classes at the WorkOne office on Marietta Street in South Bend. WorkOne covers the cost of the training for all participants.
Graduates of the program will be equipped with the most industry-requested skills necessary to enter and advance in a career in hospitality and tourism – in just three weeks. Those who complete the program will be ServeSafe certified and received a certificate from the Bethel College Center for Professional Development.
Classes, taught by industry professionals and limited to 24 participants each, include: WOW! Customer Service, Team Dynamics, Problem Solving, ServeSafe Certification, Area Tourism History, Leadership of Self, S.T.A.R., Job Keeping Behaviors, Career Advancement, and a two-day externship (fieldwork).
Participants will also have the chance to attend an exclusive job fair with the goal of receiving a job offer from industry partners like the Morris Inn, Marriott, Hilton, Century Center, White Lodging, Sodexo, Center for History, the Studebaker Museum, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and other hospitality and tourism employers in the area. Last year, 95 percent of those who completed the program received job offers from local businesses.
The training is administered through WorkOne. To register, contact Laura Vasquez at 574.237.9675, extension 1175.
