The Bethel College School of Nursing has been ranked seventh in the nation on the list of “Top RN Degree Programs for 2017.” The list, compiled by Accredited Schools Online, ranked schools all over the country based on criteria such as cost, graduation rates and resources available to them. With a score of 97.20 out of 100, Bethel is the only Indiana college to appear in the top 30 and the only CCCU (Council for Christian Colleges and Universities) school to appear in the top 20.
Bethel’s nursing student pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is consistently above the national average, and the nursing programs currently have 100 percent job placement for all students and 100 percent employer program satisfaction for all degrees offered.
“It is exciting to see that many of our upcoming graduates already have jobs lined up after graduation,” says Deborah Gillum, Ph.D., dean of nursing. “It is a great time for our new nurses to enter the workforce. They are well-prepared to provide exceptional care in the community.”
A key feature of Bethel’s BSN program is that students begin clinicals one year earlier than most programs, increasing student confidence and competence with their newly acquired skills. Another hallmark of Bethel’s programs are engaged and encouraging faculty. “Caring faculty who share their love for the nursing profession help inspire our next generation of nurses,” says Gillum.
A new $1 million nursing simulation lab is currently under construction and scheduled for completion in August. The lab will include high-fidelity simulation mannequins that can react as real patients would. Students will be able to perfect clinical skills and exhibit critical thinking in a learning environment that allows them to master these skills in a realistic, but safe, clinical situation.
