Bethel Hosts All-Star Basketball Games

The third annual McDonald's® Michiana High School All-Star Basketball Games will be held Monday, March 31, at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind. McDonald's Restaurants of Northern Indiana and Bethel College Athletics are teaming up again this year to bring this family event showcasing local high school talent in the northern Indiana and southwest Michigan area.

Bethel Welcomes Christian Comedian John Crist

Bethel College welcomes Christian comedian John Crist to the stage on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium. Crist emerged onto the national comedy scene in 2009 when he appeared on Louie Anderson’s Las Vegas Comedy Show “Larger than Life.”

Alumnus Finds Success Playing Professional Basketball

After playing professional basketball in Sweden for five years, William Walker ('09) is making the move to Finland where he looks to find continued success on the court.

Students Exhibit Artwork Connected Through Narrative

The “Drawing Tales” art show will open on Friday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. in the Weaver Gallery in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center. The event is free and attendees will have a chance to win a free self-portrait or family portrait drawn by senior visual arts major Stacy Lamb. The show will be dedicated to Rayna DoBrodt, a former Bethel College student from Mishawaka, Ind., who died in an auto accident in July.

Bethel Alumnus and Trustee Given Indiana's Highest Honor

Jerry Thacker '72, Ed.D., has been recognized by Governor Mike Pence with Indiana's highest honor, the Sagamore of the Wabash award. The award is a tribute from the governor for those who have rendered distinguished service to the state.

Bethel Community Mourns Loss of Former Dean of Nursing

Former Dean of Nursing and Graduate Program Nursing Director Karon Schwartz, Ph.D., passed away Tuesday, April 8, at her home. She was 70 years old. Visitation will be Thursday, April 10 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville, Mich. The funeral service will be Friday, April 11 at 11 a.m. at Three Rivers Church of the Nazarene in Three Rivers, Mich.

Second Annual Gospel Fest

Bethel's Black Student Fellowship is hosting the Second Annual Gospel Fest on Saturday, April 5, at 3 p.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at College Park Missionary Church.

Coach Mike Lightfoot Honored as Guardian of the Game at NCAA Final Four Event

Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Lightfoot will receive the Guardians of the Game Pillar award at the Final Four® AT&T Guardians of the Game Awards Show on Sunday, April 6 in Dallas, Texas. This event features and honors the top players and coaches in all of men’s college basketball. Lightfoot will be honored for becoming the 18th quickest coach in all of basketball to reach 700 career wins.

“Dangerous” Book Signing with Alumnus Caleb Bislow

The Bethel College Campus Store will host a book signing with alumnus Caleb Bislow, author of “Dangerous: Engaging the People and Places No One Else Will.” Bislow’s book is endorsed by Bear Grylls, host of Discovery Chanel’s “Man vs. Wild” and NBC’s “Get Out Alive,” who says it is “a book for aspiring heroes, about real heroes, by a quiet hero.” The signing will be on Wednesday, April 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Sufficient Grounds Campus Store.

Bethel Pilots Team Up Against Cancer

Bethel College students, faculty and staff will Team Up Against Cancer by participating in several events on Jan. 24 and 25. Events include a campus-wide hat day, fundraiser for Hello Gorgeous and a special focus on cancer awareness at the men’s basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 25.
