Bethel College Announces Dean’s List

Bethel College announces the 2014 spring semester Dean’s List. Eligibility for the Dean’s List requires a 3.50 GPA with 12 or more semester hours.

Bethel Professor Appointed as Research Associate at Notre Dame’s Kroc Institute

John Haas, Ph.D., associate professor of history at Bethel College, has been appointed as a research associate at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame, one of the world's leading centers for the study of the causes of violent conflict and strategies for sustainable peace.

Bethel Participates in Private College Tour Program

Bethel will host a group of 54 high school guidance counselors on Tuesday, June 17 as part of the Independent Colleges of Indiana Tour Program. Other local colleges participating are Holy Cross College, Saint Mary’s College and the University of Notre Dame.

Bethel Recognizes Great Contributions by Local Leaders

Bethel Launches Career Services Center for Adult Students

Bethel College announces the launch of a career services office designed specifically to meet the needs of adult students. Development of the office is one of several initiatives resulting from the $900,000 Lilly Grant received by Bethel in November 2013.

Summer Camps Encourage Kids to Explore Academics

Bethel will offer its annual academic camps, which provide campers from ages 11-14 with the opportunity to explore their interests with college professors, instructors and leaders who channel their knowledge into a fun, hands-on college learning experience. Make new friends and explore with us!

Bethel College Commencement Planned for May 3

This year, 533 students plan to participate in Bethel’s two commencement ceremonies which will both be held on Saturday, May 3. Author and Bethel alumnus Todd Gongwer will speak at the adult student ceremony and Congresswoman Jackie Walorski will speak at the traditional and graduate student ceremony. Bethel Hosts Summer Institute for Teachers

Bethel College will offer the Summer Institute for Teachers on June 16, 17 and 18 in the Miller-Moore Academic Center, Room AC 342. Those participating in the three-day learning experience can earn up to 18 professional growth points (PGPs) or three graduate credits. Registration will be limited to the first 125 participants per session.

Bethel Creates Library App to Better Serve Students

Staff from the Otis & Elizabeth Bowen Library at Bethel College have developed an innovative way to provide services to students by creating a mobile library app. Of Bethel’s 119 peer institutions in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU), Bethel is the first to have a library app available for both the Android and Apple markets.

Miller Named Capital One Academic All-American Second Team

Junior Zach Miller has been recognized for his academic and athletic achievements during the 2013-14 season by being named to the Capital One Academic All-American Second Team.
