New Collaborative Building Trades Program Launches

WorkOne, Bethel College and local unions and employers are partnering to provide a two-week building trades training program designed to put area workers on the path to a career in the building trades industry.

Second Annual Online Giving Day

Bethel’s second annual Online Giving Day will be on Wednesday, April 13. All gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar and will go towards three projects: an active-learning classroom, a prayer garden, and expansion of the Weaver Art Gallery.

Bethel College Athletics is pleased to host the sixth annual Northern Indiana Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Luncheon on Tuesday, April 12. This year's speaker is Bethel graduate and MLB pitcher, Eric Stults, who has taken the mound for the Dodgers, Rockies, White Sox, Padres and Braves.

Bethel Starts Record Label, Releases First Album

Bethel College announces the creation of a record label, HCM Records, and music publishing company, Bethel College (IN) Publishing. Its first project, "Anchor in the Undertow," will be released on April 12.

Bethel Hosts Community Health Workshop on Natural Family Planning

Bethel College will host a free community health workshop for anyone who wants to learn more about the Creighton Model FertilityCareTM System. The system is used for family planning and is also highly effective for identifying and treating health issues such as endometriosis, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovarian disease, infertility, and recurrent miscarriage, among others.

Community Health Worker Training at Bethel College

Community members have the opportunity to become a certified community health worker (CHW) by attending a three-day training at Bethel College, April 25-27. The deadline to apply is April 18.

1st Source Bank Awards $100,000 Grant to Bethel College

1st Source Bank has awarded a $100,000 grant to Bethel College for four new clinical simulation laboratories in its School of Nursing. The high-fidelity, computer based simulation labs and mannequins will present nursing students with comprehensive training in the varied and complex patient environments found in health care settings.

Bethel Introduces Programs for Sports Ministry and Children's Ministry

Bethel now has study opportunities in the areas of sports ministry and children’s ministry. Both are tracks available in the newly redesigned Christian Ministries major, which has been retooled to offer students more options in high-demand ministry areas.

Bethel Hosts Michiana Spring College Fair

Bethel College will host the Michiana Spring College Fair on Thursday, March 10, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Wiekamp Athletic Center. More than 50 colleges/universities and organizations are expected to attend.

New Financial Services Major Available in the Fall

Bethel announces the new Financial Services Professional major, to begin in the fall of 2016. The program was created in response to the projected job growth in financial planning careers, expected to have a 27 percent increase by 2022, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The degree will prepare students for jobs in areas such as tax planning, credit analysis and financial planning.
