Bethel College, in partnership with local churches, is reaching out to local youth through the event, “See You at the Pole” (SYATP) on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium. High school and junior high youth are encouraged to attend.

Bethel earned the 24th spot among the Midwest’s Best Baccalaureate Colleges in the 2013 edition of “America’s Best Colleges” by U.S. News Media Group. Nationally there are more than 370 schools in the Regional Colleges category and overall Bethel came in at 60. That puts Bethel in the top 16 percent of all Baccalaureate Colleges.

Bethel College will participate in the state’s annual College GO! Week Sept. 24-28. During College GO! Week, every high school in Indiana is asked to prepare their students for college and careers through a variety of events and activities.

Bethel College will host 40 Christian colleges for the annual South Bend/Mishawaka Christian College Fair on Monday, Oct. 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Wiekamp Athletic Center

As part of freshman and transfer student orientation, about 300 new students will work with the Mishawaka Parks Department. Students will serve the community cleaning the fountain, weeding and planting on Tuesday, Aug. 28 with about 600 hours of community service.

Bethel College’s Chair of the Visual Arts Department Christopher Stackowicz will showcase his newest photography exhibition, entitled “The Currency of Cuba,” during an opening reception gallery talk on Sunday, Aug. 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. The event will take place at The Jewish Federation of St. Joseph County located at 3202 Shalom Way in South Bend.

Bethel College Operatic Irregulars will present a major operatic masterwork in a chamber rendition. The work is Mozart's masterful "Così fan tutte," the last of his delightful Italian comic operas, on Sept. 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center.
